Prophets not profits?

The stock market is having a very tough time. Share values have dropped sharply. Financial institutions are writing down profit forecasts and one major UK High Street bank even had to be recently rescued by the Bank of England in order to stop an unprecedented run on its resources that looked set to bring it down. Truly the sub prime crisis that began in America has reverberated like a seismic shock throughout the world’s financial markets and the damaging repercussions are likely to be noticed for a very long time indeed.

Maybe it’s time to ask whether or not we can continue to put our trust in profits?

Maybe it’s time to ask if there is another way?

The Age of Paradox

We now live in an age of paradox. In our modern multi-media digital high-tech satellite touch-of-a-button world practically anyone in the West (along with millions more in the developing countries) has access to books, TV programmes, podcasts, CDs and a wide range of other forms of information - which include some high quality sources of Spirit-inspired products. TV programmes led by mediums like John Edward, James Van Praagh, Derek Acorah, Tony Stockwell, T.J. Higgs and Colin Fry regularly offer convincing proof of the existence of the spirit realm. Healers like Matthew Manning, who has been scientifically tested in a range of experiments around the world and whose skills have been vouched for by luminaries in modern medicine like Karol Sikora, Professor of Cancer Medicine at London’s Hammersmith Hospital likewise indicate that the old models of science, medicine… and the afterlife are now patently redundant. Leading academic authors including Dr Serena Roney Dougal, Dr Larry Dossey MD and Lynne MacTaggart cogently recount evidence gained from scientists conducting cutting-edge research at outstanding places of learning like Princeton University (Dr Robert Jahn and Brenda Dunne researching psychokinesis) and McGill University (Dr Bernard Grad, researching healing) and from the world of the quantum physicists (David Bohm, et al), which seems to indicate that truly all things are connected and what’s more that modern scientists may have detected an aspect of The Divine in something called a Zero Point Field, which exists everywhere and through which all things are interrelated.Yet on the other side of the paradoxical spectrum of human activity we see man’s inhumanity to man played out in the news daily. People who profess allegiance to God, yet who commit atrocities in the name of their interpretation of God on a terrible scale, to the extent that it might even make the Devil wince sometimes at the scope of the misery that some of these twisted souls are willing to inflict on the defenceless?

Money, money, money

We see a world where, although we pretend it isn’t so, a person is often judged in a meritorious way according to how much money he or she has, rather than by how much good he or she does. Yet history clearly teaches us that some of those who inherit or who gather the most money are sometimes not the best exemplars of human behaviour. Sometimes altruism is not at the top of their list yet - nevertheless, in our warped world sometimes the wealthy are afforded the trappings of privilege simply because they have great wealth. And, sometimes some of the ‘wealthy elite’ epitomise the height of materialism as they survey the world through avaricious eyes and the result is that they are never fulfilled because - as so many discover (often when it’s too late) grasping another dollar, pound, euro or yen can never bring true, lasting fulfilment.

Shallow

Sometimes it seems that our current age has devolved, overall, into a shallow culture where, sadly, money is often worshipped above all else. But money can be a fickle god, as recent events have demonstrated. So, what happens when the incessant striving after profit turns out to be an unreliable source of security? Might the current global financial troubles offer a hint to the world at large that perhaps we have our values mixed up in some dangerous way and that it might really be more profitable to turn to the world of Spirit in order to begin to take on board the exhortations that have been presented and re-presented through various prophets, mediums and psychics throughout history - right up into our current dazzling high-tech era, which suggests that a better, safer, fairer way to live is to put Spirit first in our lives and then ‘love our neighbours as ourselves’, so to speak? Must the ‘bottom line’ always be the top priority? Or might it not be time to reprioritise our lives, while we still have time?

Spirit priorities

Let me ask you a question: do you think that the spirit world conforms to the same priorities as our money-conscious world, where privilege is bestowed upon those who have the most possessions? Is the standard of merit in the heavenly realm the same as that which exists in our current shallow world, whereby, for instance in such a scenario only a few advantaged people would be enabled to communicate with Spirit while the many could not? Does the multitude of ordinary people (of which you and I are part) really have to go ‘cap in hand’, so to speak, to an intermediary of some kind (like a priest) in order to commune (in a second hand way) with Spirit? Or is God bigger and more just than that? Could it really be that the potential exists for anyone to communicate with the Divine, no matter what their ‘rank’ or ‘status’ is in the world’s eyes, because Spirit measures our character not our wealth or worldly lineage? Might this mean instead that when our intentions are honest and when we’re seeking to establish rapport with Spirit for honourable reasons (and not for prestige or power) is it not likely then that the doors to a deeply fulfilling relationship with the Divine will be forthcoming? I think so.

Spirit talks to me

I live in Bournemouth, Dorset. I was not born into wealth or privilege. I went to a secondary modern school like hundreds of thousands of others back in the 1970s and I’ve worked for a living since I left school. And guess what? Despite my normal background Spirit talks to me. Let me give you an example: A few years ago I decided to enrol on some psychic development training courses, one of which was held in Portsmouth. As I set out to drive to my first evening's training Spirit told me that there was going to be someone on the course that I knew! This puzzled me and I wondered who on earth would be on a psychic development course in Portsmouth that I knew (remember, I live in Bournemouth)? Anyway, I arrived and joined the other delegates in the classroom and was chit-chatting with a guy who was sat next to me, when a woman walked into the room and waved at me. She was a previous student from our hypnotherapy diploma course (held in Bournemouth) but who lived reasonably close to Portsmouth and had, as a result of her family background in mediumship (which she told me about over the coming weeks), decided to enrol on the course as well.

Here's the other example: One evening when driving back from Portsmouth Spirit told me to 'be careful of the fox that's going to step out in front of you'. About 20 minutes later, as I pulled off of the dual carriageway into Bournemouth, a fox did indeed step out in front of me. However, forewarned, as soon as I saw it on the grass verge ahead of me I slowed down and avoided it by a comfortable distance.

But it doesn’t stop there. While remarkable, these examples clearly relate to personal, specific events that have relevance to my own life and my own sphere of experience. But often Spirit tells me about things that are due to happen on the world stage. Here’s an example that I’ve shared with others: Recently, in shamanic trance, as I sometimes do I asked Spirit for some evidence about something that would manifest in the physical world in the near future on the world stage. Spirit guided my thoughts to Iran and the word 'assassination'. I recoiled at this message and began to wonder whether I'd just imagined something out of a Hollywood style thriller. But no - the message was clear! The country was Iran and there was going to be a breaking news event that had something to do with the word assassination. So, I returned from trance and told my wife Gill - and a day or so later both of my parents too - about this message. About a week after I'd received the message the TV news began to cover a startling story. Russian President Vladimir Putin was being warned to be careful in his (then) upcoming meeting with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Iran because he was being targeted for assassination in Iran! My wife and parents were as amazed as I when the news broke about the assassination threat to President Putin in Iran! I never cease to be astounded. And I've received many more messages about the future too (for the record, I’m working on another book at the moment called 'Accurate Evidence From The Spirit World', which lists many examples of clear accurate remarkable spirit communication.)

And then, of course, there are the many instances that have occured during psychic readings when Spirit has presented information to me, which I've then, in turn, shared with my clients which has turned out to be accurate, timely, specific - and downright incredible!

Remember, I wasn't born into privilege - but Spirit talks to me nevertheless.

We can all talk to Spirit

Over the decades Spirit has intervened in my life in various ways (as you can see by exploring my website - I was even saved from a hurricane once) and in so doing has proved to me that 1) Spirit really exists 2) The Spirit Realm communicates with ordinary people like me 3) these messages are accurate and 4) that the Spirit Realm has a combined warning and exhortation for we who live on earth at this time.

You see, the over-riding theme that Spirit shares with me while I communicate with them in shamanic trance is that our current world situation is akin to watching a group of irresponsible party goers riding on a speeding train as it hurtles along a track, having first fired the driver (wisdom) leaving no one in control, while they all ‘eat, drink and be merry’, giving no consideration to the fact that they’re rapidly approaching the end of the track… and impact! The messages can have quite a foreboding sense about them sometimes as I consider what they're telling me about where humanity is potentially heading.  This isn't a popular message, but the facts speak for themselves and only those who 'bury their heads in the sand' choose not to see the evidence.

But there is a positive side to the messages too!

You see, as I’ve said before, while I understand that humanity is probably going to teeter close to the edge of an abyss of manmade destruction (watch the news, we're well on our way there), nevertheless, I sense that total catastrophe will be averted because there are a growing number of spirit-inspired 'Light Workers' who are gathering together to share the good news that there is another, better way of living, and as a result, while certain irresponsible sections of society and certain unwise governmental policies around the world lead us closer to destruction, conversely, the efforts of the growing wave of 'Light Workers' will, I believe, help to mitigate the damage that would otherwise be done by the foolishness of some, so that, while things are getting bad, they won’t result in total disaster. They will instead reach such a challenging point in history whereby, even many of those who have hitherto been irresponsible, will realise that continuing to live this way is ultimately a self-destructive thing to do, and as a result humanity will at '11:59 and 59 seconds to midnight', so to speak, stop it’s mad rush to destruction and then we will begin to move into the New Age that has so often been prophesied.

Too few people listen to prophets. But we all have the potential to become prophets. There is a wonderful verse in the Bible which says ‘…I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions…’ (Joel 2:28). The prerequisite for such a gift is metanoia - a change of heart. The kind of change of heart that comes about when humanity puts its love of profits to one side and instead puts a love of Spirit (and our fellow human beings and the natural world around us) as our first priority. When we replace a love of profit with a love of Spirit – God will make us all prophets, and we will together step into a new age.
