Fame Is Not A Walk In The Park: Elvis Presley And Michael JacksonLike millions of others around the world I was deeply saddened by the death of Michael Jackson last year. For over 30 years now I was one of many of his avid fans who religiously waited expectantly for each new release and then when the albums hit the stores I soaked up the genius that was manifest through Thriller, Bad, Dangerous... and more. Michael Jackson was electrifying in his heyday. His final years were, sometimes, hard to watch. While it's clear for any ubiased person to see that he made some unwise decisions (don't we all?) nevertheless, I feel that he was probably undeservedly the most crucified celebrity in history. Once the press (and certain individuals, with vested interests) turned on him, his life must have been a living hell. Elvis Presley's final years were sadly marked by similar themes, in which he was embroiled in controversy which was caused when some of his most trusted companions (whom he 'd financially supported for years) turned on him and wrote a vicious book called 'Elvis: What Happened?', which was effectively a contrived, collaborative, spiteful attempt at character assassination, the result of which was that Elvis was emotionally devastated by what his erstwhile 'friends' had done (what's more, a few months after the publication of the book he was dead, such was, I believe, the scale of the damage that had been done). Like Michael, I greatly admire Elvis. I've been an Elvis fan since I was a child in the 1960s. For years I modelled myself on Elvis, with Elvis-style haircuts, a curled-lip smile, turned up collars, an Elvis-way-of-walking... and I bought tons of Elvis' records and movies. Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson were two musical icons, the likes of which the world will never see, in quite the same way, again. (I once wrote to Michael Jackson to say how wonderful I thought it would have been if, then, Elvis was still alive and if he and Elvis had recorded an album together, which I suggested might have been called, simply, 'Kings'.) Even before the troubled times though both Elvis and Michael were prisoners, trapped by the fame they'd achieved. In many ways their lives could be argued to have spiritual, shamanic themes to them, in the sense that they both brought such happiness to so many others, but they both suffered greatly while doing so too. I was walking my dog by a river in a nearby beautiful park yesterday evening and as I did I thought about how neither Michael nor Elvis could, in life, walk in such a beautiful public place. With all the millions they both earned (and the billions they've generated) such amazing, simple and free pleasures were tantalisingly out of their reach. We live in an age where 'wannabe stars' seek 'fame for fame's sake'. I don't suggest that either Michael Jackson or Elvis Presley became famous for such a shallow reason, there was much more depth to their personalities and talents for this to be the case. However, I think the lives of Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson provide an important lesson regarding those things that the modern world suggests we should aspire to: the achievement of fame for 'fame's sake', when we can so clearly see that often times fame brings w ith it illusory 'blessings' for those who realise such ambitions. What a crazy mixed-up age we live in. Elvis and Michael brought a great deal of happiness into the world and they both did so much good for others (they were renowned for their generosity and kindness) but through the ill-will of others they personally both suffered a great deal. Sadly, they were not the first to do so, and, sadly too, because of the way the world sometimes works, they probably won't be the last either. Nevertheless their music will live on. Both Michael and Elvis were musical giants. I don't think any reasonable person can argue with the fact that they are the two biggest solo stars in the history of popular music. They're irreplaceable. I'm grateful that they shared their talents with us and I pray they've found in Heaven the peace that eluded them on Earth. Next time you take a walk in the park, you might want to take a moment to count your blessings and perhaps think a kind thought about Michael and Elvis too. (c) Kerin Webb 2009 - 2010.
The trial of Dr Conrad Murray in the death of Michael Jackson:I've been watching some of the live TV coverage of the trial of Dr Conrad Murray, the physician charged with Involuntary Manslaughter in the death of King of Pop Michael Jackson and in my opinion Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor is an example of an exemplary judge. He's fair, respectful, clear and reasonable. Also, the prosecution lawyers representing the People, David Walgren and Deborah Brazil are outstanding in their balanced and meticulous presentation of the evidence against Dr Murray. (As I write this addendum to my article the jury are deliberating their verdict.) Dr Conrad Murray found guilty of involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson7/11/2011 Further to the above, in recent minutes Dr Conrad Murray has been found guilty of the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson. I agree with the verdict. LA County District Attorney Steve Cooley pointed out something that we should all take note of with regard to prescription medication: In 2011 the number one cause of death amongst American citizens has been adverse reactions TO PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE. Indeed, unbeknown to most people prescription medicines have a long history of killing and injuring British and American citizens (and I'm sure the same applies to all other countries of the world). We should all exercise caution when using and considering using prescription medicine. Medication should never be used casually or recklessly. Prescription medication played a significant role in the death of the previous generation's 'king' of the music world. As we all know, Elvis too died prematurely after years of addiction to prescription drugs. (Like Michael Elvis is alleged to have regularly used Demerol.) Amazing Evidence...
Jules Verne and The Masai Warrior
One of the most important aspects of giving psychic mediumship readings is the sharing of highly specific evidence with the client. Finely tuned, very personal details are what indicate that the information is being conveyed psychically, rather than based on 'guess work' or 'broad generalisations'. With this in mind, here are a couple of recent examples of the degree of specificity that Spirit can provide, in addition to names: (1) Yesterday a client asked me to tune into two specific loved ones for her and as I did I began to sense a reference to the book 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, written by Jules Verne, so I shared this with her. She was amazed: her brother (with whom she'd hoped to connect) loved Jules Verne, specifically the book 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea! This was coupled with more specific evidence to indicate survival. Here's another example: (2) I was doing a reading a few days ago during which I said to my client that I saw her husband in my mind, in Africa holding a Masia Warrior's spear. She told me that she and her husband had holidayed in Africa recently, during which time he had stopped a Masia Warrior who was out walking and offered to buy his spear off of him, which he did! This too was coupled with lots more highly specific evidence. Facts like this demonstrate the psychic source of the information.
Dorrie and The Racer
Evidence received can be quite direct and obvious during a reading, for example I received the name Dorrie for a client in a reading this week, which, when I shared it with her, she confirmed was her (departed) aunt's name. Today however, in one instance it worked a little differently. I explained to a client that I was being drawn to motor-racing and him and, in particular, the chequered flag being used. I specifically described the flag being waved up and down... and he replied by telling me that in actual fact he'd recently been go-kart racing, during which a chequered flag was used in this way. This means that it's possible for a psychic/medium to misinterpret evidence to one degree or another (it was go-kart racing, not motor racing, including a real chequered flag)... but that the evidence being sent from the Spirit World is in and of itself accurate at source. And usually quite obvious to the client!
King!
Recently a client asked me to tune into a love interest that she has, so I began to do so and immediately I said that Spirit was showing me an image of a crown, like a king or queen would wear, which I described to her. She was amazed! The chap she's interested in, she then told me, has a nickname: King!
Viva Las Vegas!
'Hi Kerrin, Thank you so much for the reading the other day. It was incredibly accurate! Some more things to confirm to you. The person my brother towed back from France was Jeff!! Also when I got home I looked at the photo of my two brothers (the one that passed away) and they have their arms round each other with their thumbs up - it was taken in Vegas!!! where they had so much fun on a brother holiday... You also told me about the pub – darts in Winton - this is where he used to live and did go to the pub at the top of the road and he did play darts. (During the reading Spirit gave me the name Jeff and some information about a situation to do with a car being towed. Debbie knew that her brother had worked with someone called Jeff, and that on one occasion he'd driven to France to tow someone home. However, upon further research, after the reading, she discovered that it was Jeff whom her brother had towed! I also explained that I sensed that Las Vegas was relevant and that Spirit was showing me an image of two men, with their arms around each other both giving a thumbs up sign. After the reading Debbie checked a photo of her two brothers in Las Vegas and noticed that they had their arms around each other - both giving a thumbs up sign (in the way I'd described). I also sensed a location called Winton, coupled with darts being played, which Debbie also discovered was correct... after the reading had taken place. Lot's more evidence came through from Spirit during the reading which Debbie was able to identify at the time.)
